"Albania, with a regional cadet school" - Vengu: Armed Forces Campus, ready in February. 800 euro salary for new students

The new Armed Forces Campus is expected to be ready for students in February 2026. This was stated by the Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu during the inspection of the works with the Minister of Education Mirela Kumbaro.
With an area of 7600 m², the new campus offers modern classrooms and auditoriums, a training range, a swimming pool, laboratories and functional facilities that meet the highest standards of military education. About 80% of the works have been completed, while work is underway to work on the furnishings and technological equipment, said Vengu.
“We have a very high number of applications every year. This year there was a record with 1,630 applications for only 80 quotas. It is one of the institutions that is marking the greatest increase in interest, with a large disproportion between demand and supply. The maximum capacity for accommodation will be around 100 students, although the groups are smaller. According to the calendar, in February the building will be ready to accommodate bachelor's and master's students.”
In the first year of the bachelor's degree, a student at the Armed Forces Academy is paid around 800 euros per month. Minister Vengu emphasized that this campus will be transformed into a regional cadet school.
"Students are paid from the first year after taking the oath. Currently, the starting salary is around 800 euros and increases with rank and seniority. Specializations are also carried out abroad, in France, Italy, Turkey, Greece and other partner countries. Currently, the Academy has around 450 bachelor's and master's students, including cadets from Kosovo, for whom the quotas have been increased. The goal is for this campus to become a regional cadet school, with cooperation also with allied countries such as the USA and other NATO countries," said the Minister.
On the other hand, Kumbaro stated that the Military Academy is part of the large portfolio of investments in education.
“This is a very important investment, not only for the Academy, but for the entire education sector. In the context of global challenges, the Armed Forces have become increasingly important, not only for security, but also for the training and education of young people. The Military Academy is part of the large portfolio of investments in education, together with the Magistrates' School, vocational education and the Security Academy.”
The Academy offers a wide academic and professional offering, not only in theoretical programs, but also professional training in specialties such as cybersecurity, also preparing specialists for other state sectors.
