Energy production in the country falls - Balance for the 4th month. Losses in the network decrease, collections at 96%
Around 2.9 million MWh of energy was produced during the first four months of this year from all generating sources in the country, marking a decrease compared to a year earlier, when around 3.1 million MWh of energy was generated for the same period. According to data from the Energy Regulatory Authority, production was dominated by private companies with 53% of total energy, while the Drini Cascade generated 47%.
Private producers, in addition to hydroelectric power plants, also include photovoltaic power plants, although the amount generated is extremely low compared to the energy produced from hydropower sources.
According to data from the ERE, in total, the plants in the free market, those that have a contract with the Free Market Supplier, as well as the Karavasta Power Plant produced 194,458 mWh or 6.6% of the total electricity generated in the country. During this period, it is reported that the floating TECs, located in the Triport of Vlora, have also produced around 41 thousand mWh.
Meanwhile, total energy consumption for the first 4 months reached around 2.9 million MWh of energy, experiencing a slight increase compared to the January-April period last year.
Meanwhile, the level of losses in the distribution network for the first 4 months was recorded at 17%, marking an improvement compared to the same period last year, where losses were estimated at 18.5%.
Regarding the level of collections for the period January - April, this indicator reached 96% of the invoices generated by the Electricity Distribution Operator.
