Malaj: Financing for Mira Murati does not affect the budget deficit -

The Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, during his speech in Parliament, stated that the Albanian government's 10 million euro financing of Mira Murati's company is not expected to affect the country's budget deficit.

"The financial effect was covered by the increase in the same amount, i.e. 1 billion lek, of non-tax revenues in the item 'Revenue from the disposal of confiscated assets', as a result of the transfer to the state budget of revenues collected by the Agency for the Administration of Sequestered and Confiscated Assets (AAPSK/MB), in implementation of the legislation in force, for this purpose."

The head of finance also said that this investment by the Albanian government in the "Thinking Machines Lab" will not only have financial benefits, but can also serve as a model for promoting new start-ups in the country.

"It is necessary to see this investment also from the point of view of longer-term benefits, be they economic, but also of a success story that comes from an Albanian entrepreneur, with an important global contribution in the field of Artificial Intelligence, which can also serve as a model for those young Albanian entrepreneurs who have just launched their start-ups and want to believe in an idea that can turn into a profitable business tomorrow."

In other news, Mr. Malaj said that the value of the company's shares is expected to reach $10 billion if "Thinking Machines Lab" achieves a successful IPO on international stock exchanges, which offers considerable profit potential for Albania.
