"The battle with the fires as a dramatic chronicle" - Rama: Albania was not broken! We will have our own fleet of aircraft
The country's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, participated in the National Gratitude Ceremony, where medals and awards were given to all forces engaged in operations against the fires that affected the country. In his speech, Rama emphasized that the fire situation was a long chronicle of wounds and drama, while adding that the heroism shown by the firefighters honored the state and the republic.
"We are here to respectfully bow before you and all you represent. The firefight that engulfed significant territories of the country in the last two months was a dramatic chronicle, but with notes of dedication and human heroism that honor your uniforms and exalt our republic," said Prime Minister Rama.
He added that Albania was not broken despite being engulfed by powerful fires this summer, and that the country will prepare for its own fleet of aircraft.
"100 air missions, hundreds of interventions and this country showed that the civil protection mechanism, from the most remote village to the center of Tirana, could and knew how to give its best, even though there is still much to do. The entire Mediterranean was on fire like never before this summer, so says the tragic balance of this summer."
At the end of the ceremony, Rama decorated forces from various institutions that participated in bringing the fires under control, such as Civil Emergencies, Armed Forces, State Police, etc.
