Balluku meets in Athens with the US Secretaries of Energy and Interior
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, met in Athens with the US Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright, and the US Secretary of the Interior, Doug Burgum. The meetings were held within the framework of the proceedings of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation (P-TEC) Summit, a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening energy cooperation between the United States and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
The summit was organized under the auspices of the US Department of Energy, in cooperation with the Greek Government and the Global Energy Center at the Atlantic Council, bringing together energy ministers, experts and senior political representatives from the region in Athens.
In a video message from Athens, Deputy Prime Minister Balluku emphasized the importance of transatlantic cooperation in the field of energy, praising Secretary Wright's message as an inspiring vision for Europe's energy future.
"Energy Secretary Chris Wright delivered his speech with an inspiring vision, which centered on energy security, transatlantic cooperation, but above all, the coordination of states to minimize the impact of Russian gas in Europe," said Balluku.
She added that the presence of US Secretary of the Interior, Doug Burgum, at this summit clearly demonstrates the essential role that energy plays not only in economic development, but also in global security.
Albania's participation in this high-level forum underscores the country's commitment to becoming an active part of the international dialogue on energy transition, resource diversification, and strengthening energy sustainability in the region.
The P-TEC Summit serves as an important platform for the exchange of ideas and policies aimed at reducing dependence on unsustainable energy sources and promoting investments in clean technologies, in line with the objectives of the global green transformation.
