Balluku and Hoxha meeting with prefects: Revision of the plan of measures for civil emergencies!
The Deputy Prime Minister, Belinda Balluku, and the Minister of the Interior, Ervin Hoxha, gathered in Fier, at a discussion table, the prefects of the 12 regions of the country.
The tourist season, emergency management, public order and security, as well as territorial control were the focus of this meeting.
In her speech, Deputy Prime Minister Balluku emphasized the importance of the role of prefects in the coordination of state institutions and agencies in the district. Balluku asked them for a greater commitment to the best possible management of every situation, especially those related to emergencies.
"We will have to have a real plan of measures and we have to review the existing plans, in terms of civil emergencies.
Climate change is not saving anyone anymore. All units, all prefectures, must refresh the plan of measures. There should be maximum engagement and coordination with civil emergencies. To my knowledge, the Minister of Defense has also started a round of meetings, taking into account the budgeting of 2025. In addition to the fact that all the requirements have been listed and inventoried, on the other hand, in addition to the additional machines or forces that will be required, it will be required and a good, efficient plan for coping with all the problems that may come with the autumn rains or with the frosts during the winter", underlined Balluku.
As winter approaches, Balluku further added, an even better coordination is important for the management of any situation as a result of bad weather.
"We will stay in touch, as we are entering a period which should have been called 'late autumn' already, because we are on the verge of winter, however, with the change in climatic conditions, this autumn has been extended. Therefore, I believe that in the coming weeks we will also have the beginning of rains from all the information we have from civil aviation meteorologists, so it will take a commitment of all structures", said Balluku.
Interior Minister Ervin Hoxha asked for immediate measures to be taken in every district, within the framework of civil emergencies.
"Reorganization of the Civil Defense Commission in the District, updating the civil emergency plans with the changes that have occurred, updating the contacts and the communication network, to make the early warning functional, sensitizing the community to prepare for the difficulties of the winter season as well as cooperation with all Regional Agencies and Directorates, municipalities in the territory of the district, as well as with private entities for the realization of tasks, according to the instructions of the National Agency of Civil Protection", Hoxha emphasized.
For their part, the prefects presented a report on the situation in each of the districts and the problems they are facing.
