Kashar-Rrogozhinë Highway, works to begin within the year - 35-year concession, Karakaçi: ARRSH has approved the implementation project

Works on the Kashar-Rrogozhina highway are expected to begin within this year. The Albanian Road Authority has approved the implementation project, while the next step will be the start of the expropriation process to pave the way for the construction of the axis.
The news was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, according to whom discussions related to the method of combining this axis with the Tirana Bypass have already been concluded.
"The ARA has approved the implementation project that arrived at the ministry today and will immediately begin the expropriation process, paving the way for the start of works within this year," Karakaçi declared.
According to the minister, the axis will have a length of about 33.5 km.
"Kashar-Rrogozhinë is part of the Blue Corridor and the continuation of the Thumanë-Kashar axis. With a length of 33.5 kilometers, this will be a category A highway and will create a direct north-south connection, helping to ease traffic on one of the country's busiest axes, Tirana-Durres," said Karakacci.
This axis will be built through a concession contract, for which the winner has been announced as a union of 7 companies: “Gjoka Konstruksion”, “Junik”, “Cobial”, “Pepa Group”, “UDHA”, “Geoportal” and “A&E Engineering”. The estimated investment value is around 474.9 million euros, excluding VAT, while the duration of the concession is 35 years.
The Kashar–Lekaj (Rrogozhinë) segment is planned on a new route. Of the approximately 33.6 km of the axis, 26.6 kilometers are subject to a concession contract, while the other 7 km are part of the Tirana Bypass and are financed by the state budget.
Kashar–Lekaj is one of the segments of the Milot–Fier highway, with a total length of about 114 km. Currently, Thumanë–Kashar has been completed and opened to traffic, while the other segments are in various stages of procedures and works.
