Goods processing increases in the Port of Durres - 2.4 million tons in 7 months. Container transport, at the highest pace
The Port of Durres has recorded an increase in activity during the first seven months of 2026. According to data from the Durres Port Authority, during the January-July period, about 2.4 million tons of goods were processed, registering an increase of 6.7% compared to the same period in 2025. In this performance, the main weight is the increase in container transport, where the total volume of containerized goods, imports and exports together, has increased by about 28%, making this segment one of the main indicators of the expansion of commercial activity in the port.
According to APD, container transport continues to be the segment with the highest rate of expansion.
On the other hand, in the container terminal alone, over 1.5 million tons of goods were processed during the first seven months of this year. The figures show that container transport is playing an increasingly important role in the activity of the Port of Durres and in the movement of goods through this important maritime transport hub.
In total, 2.4 million tons of goods were processed in the January-July period, compared to January-July 2025, the Port of Durres has recorded an increase of 6.7%.
The increase in container volume signals higher activity in the circulation of goods and maritime transport through the Port of Durres.
Figures for the first seven months of 2026 confirm a positive trend, with an increase in both the total volume of processed goods and that of containerized goods.
