Elbasan-Lekaj highway - 150 million euro tenders are closed without complaints.

The six tenders for the new road axis Elbasan - Lekaj have been closed without complaints, paving the way for the announcement of the winners and the signing of contracts for the start of the works.

Tenders were opened in October, while interested companies had until November 8 to submit their offers.

In total, the limit fund made available is 15 billion lek or about 150 million euros, while the axis is part of corridor 8.

According to the tender documents, the project starts near the former Metallurgical Plant in Elbasan, where the connection will be made with the bypass of Elbasan that will have to be built up to Lekaj, where it joins the existing blue corridor highway.

The length of the road is 40.7 km and passes through the regions of Elbasan (Bradashesh, Shirgjan, Gjegjan, Cërrik, Papër), Peqin (Pajovë, Shez, Gjocaj, Peqin, Karinë) and Kavajë (Sinaballaj, Rrogozhinë).

The new road will be a highway, while the speed allowed after the completion of the works will be in the range of 90 km/h to 140 km/h.

Corridor 8 is considered the core infrastructure project in our country, while the 2025 budget also guarantees the financing of the project.

This, not only for the 6 lots that are in tender, but also for the other 8 segments from Elbasan to Qafë - Thane where they are currently being worked on.

In Albanian territory, Corridor 8 has a length of about 154 km.
