79 million euros in energy support - Kozeli: Grants for 8,000 families, we are adding charging stations for electric cars
The Committee on Productive Activities approved the draft law on the Multiannual Operational Program for Energy under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA III), which has a value of 79 million euros.
"As a program, it has a total value of 79 million euros, of which 50 million are donations from the European Union and 29 million are co-financing from the Albanian government," said Ami Kozeli, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Energy.
The funding provides for several areas of support, including energy efficiency in buildings, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, or improving energy efficiency in water companies.
"The first area is renewable energy and energy efficiency, where we aim to improve energy efficiency in public buildings in 4 selected municipalities. The program includes the installation of photovoltaic panels and solar collectors, and it is expected that 8,000 families will benefit from grant schemes for similar systems. The second area is infrastructure for electric vehicles. The installation of 130 fast charging stations on the main axes will be carried out. The third area is energy efficiency in the water sector, where the objective is to increase energy efficiency and reduce emissions in 7 water supply and sewage enterprises," said Kozeli.
The execution period of the financial agreement will begin upon its entry into force and will end 12 years after this date.
