"400 million euros from projects with the EU" - Manjani: Letters of intent showed the first efforts to strengthen economic ties
From the letters of intent signed on the first day of the EU-Western Balkans Investment Forum, projects worth 400 million euros are expected to be implemented in the fields of artificial intelligence, clean energy and the automotive industry.
In the first panel of the second day, Deputy Minister of Economy, Olta Manjani, stated that this forum further promoted economic cooperation between the EU and the Western Balkans.
"The aim of this forum is to strengthen economic ties between the European Union and the Western Balkans and I think the first day was very successful in this regard, because the first commitment was made by companies in the region, who signed letters of intent for projects that will be implemented next year in a value of 400 million euros and as the President of the Commission said, we expect that with this investment we will attract millions", said the Deputy Minister.
According to her, European integration requires investments in infrastructure, the private sector, and human capital.
"The Western Balkan countries have shown a high potential to integrate with the financial systems of the European Union. The Western Balkans must advance together as a region and this was an important message of the first day of the Conference, which is that European integration is a capital-driven process that requires coordinated investments in infrastructure, private sector growth and human capital development which is truly one of the most important resources we have in a region with many other precious resources that we need to preserve," said Manjani.
This forum served as a good opportunity to attract foreign direct investment, foster innovation, and accelerate economic convergence.
