360 farmers will be financed by the investment scheme - Deadline for submitting documentation for selected applications is postponed
The application process for the National Agricultural Investment Scheme 2024 ended on November 8, 2024. Currently, the Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development is still in the process of administrative control, where the deadline for submitting documents has been extended to February 28, 2025.
According to AZHBR, meanwhile, field checks are continuing to verify the applications that have been received for subsidies. In parallel, several contracts have been signed and the disbursement of funds has begun, allowing farmers who have met the qualification criteria and have concluded the relevant agreements to begin implementing their projects.
According to official data from the Albanian Agricultural Investment Agency (AZHBR), the National Agricultural Investment Scheme 2024 has registered a total of 404 applications. Of these, to date, 360 applications have met the selection criteria.
The highest interest was for investments in farm mechanization with 305 applications and for the construction of livestock stables and poultry raising facilities with 49 applications.
Meanwhile, the number of applications for measures related to solar greenhouses and aquaculture has been more limited. The regions with the highest demand for this scheme are Fier, Vlora and Korça, reflecting the interest of farmers for support in these areas with agricultural and livestock traditions.
The Fund for the National Agricultural Investment Scheme 2024, made available from the Albanian Government budget, is 1.5 billion lek, with a two-year extension, which will be disbursed in the form of grants up to 50% of the value of the investment tax invoices.
This financing covers key areas of investment, such as the construction of solar greenhouses, the installation of anti-hail nets, the construction of livestock stables and poultry breeding facilities, the purchase of agricultural machinery, and investments in marine aquaculture.
Financial support is an important initiative for the modernization of agriculture and livestock, providing opportunities for sustainable development and increased competitiveness in local and international markets, especially in regions with high production potential.
