232.8 million lek for the reconstruction of sewers in Vlora - New investment aims to avoid floods
The Municipality of Vlora has announced the opening of the tender KUB Vlora (White Water Sewage) - Reconstruction, resizing and rehabilitation of the main collectors along the Trans-Balkan road, according to the lots: from Skela Street to Hasan Kushta Street (Albano and Romina) and Odhise Grillo Street. The estimated limit fund is 232 million and 867 thousand lekë.
According to the document at the Public Procurement Agency, the specification of the lines refers to emergency measures to solve the problems of recent floods that have become frequent even during ordinary rains, but with high intensity.
The current state of the KUB is almost completely depreciated, with partial and complete blockages from the city's garbage dumps. During the rainy season, they cannot remove the water from the streets, causing them to flood. The carrying capacities of the flows are reduced, due to the blockage of sections. Also, the KUB system in some of its nodes turns out to be disconnected, causing some of the lines, in the absence of discharge into the pipes of the subsequent lines, to come to the surface during rainy seasons, flooding the streets and squares.
According to the document, the design of the KUB system will be done for all watersheds of the Vlora city area, and implementation priorities will be determined starting from its final part, from the entire Vlora KUB system for the central part of the city, which discharges into the field canal that leads to Hidrovor, and what will not change is the final quota of the field canal.
The new project will use current conditions and standards, including international ones.
