Reconstruction of the electricity network in Tirana - OSSH opens the 198.9 million lek tender for improving the quality of energy

The Regional Directorate of OSSH Tirana has announced the opening of the tender for the reconstruction of the 20 kV cabins of the Kashar, Qendër, Selitë, Farkë substations. The limit fund made available is 198 million and 924 thousand lekë.
Referring to the document at the Public Procurement Agency, the project area consists mainly of household customers with almost 70% of total subscribers, 25% of subscribers are private customers; 5% are institutions, and there are approximately 3,000 subscribers affected by the investment.
On the other hand, the 20 kV medium voltage electrical cabins in Tirana will be reconstructed, both in terms of construction and electrical. The distribution network in the area is out of technical condition, has high losses and frequent defects.
The areas in which the investment will be made are the urban areas and a rural part of the city of Tirana, mainly: Unaza e vogël, Fusha e Aviacionit, Allias, Shkozë, Lundër, Sauk, Paskuqan, Laprakë, and Don Bosko. These areas have undergone intensive urban development, a factor that affects the increase in demand for electricity, which must meet consumer demands.
According to the document, the total area of the area included in the project is 50 km2. The implementation of this investment aims to reduce losses in the area involved, as well as improve performance indicators. The implementation of this project is necessary, as the electrical network in this area is out of technical condition and poses a risk to technicians and residents of the area.
The changes that have occurred in the infrastructure, including these areas, have radically modified the function of the existing medium voltage lines, reducing the quality of electricity supply in this distribution network, due to high loads on the feeders, as well as frequent defects in the electrical cabinets. These changes in the infrastructure have influenced the increase in the demand for electricity, for family and private consumers, therefore, in order to anticipate the needs, an appropriate electrical infrastructure must be developed to guarantee a quality service, the document states.
