16.6 billion euros in foreign investments - Rama: Growth sustainability
Foreign direct investment in Albania has reached 16.6 billion euros. In the last 5 years, the country has attracted more investment relative to the economy than the regional average, reaching about 7% of Gross Domestic Product and the Prime Minister has described it as a previously unimaginable level.
' 'The economy grows and grows steadily also because foreign direct investment grows steadily. In the last 5 years, Albania has attracted more foreign investment in relation to the economy than the regional average, reaching nearly 7% of the Gross Domestic Product, above the Western Balkans average.
In 2024 alone, 1.6 billion euros of investments were certified, while in the first 9 months of 2025 we reached 1.21 billion, which confirms the stable growth rate. Meanwhile, the total stock of foreign investment has reached 16.6 billion euros, a figure unimaginable not many years ago.
A figure that clearly shows that Albania has changed its positioning in the region, has changed its approach and impact, from a market that was seen with great reserve, turning into a country where investments are made concretely and with long-term perspectives.
And, if we count the applications, the interests and the opportunities that we see from all that is on the table of the relevant agencies' files, then I can tell you with all my heart that tomorrow is much better than today. It is a tomorrow of results that are directly related to what we have sown with effort all these years, to the transformative reforms that we have made, to the economic stability that we have created, to the ongoing improvement of the business climate and to a structured approach to investments in a predictable environment for long-term capital," Rama declared.
