150 million lek for transformer repairs/OSSH opens tender, aiming to improve network security
The High Voltage Directorate of the Albanian Public Distribution System (OSSH) has announced the opening of a tender for the repair of high and medium voltage transformers. The available fund limit is 150 million lek.
According to the document in the Public Procurement Agency, the main goal of this project is to eliminate as quickly and efficiently as possible the breakdowns caused by damage to power transformers. Since transformers constitute the most important nodes of the electricity transmission and distribution system, any defect in them has significant consequences for the security and continuity of energy supply.
Therefore, immediate measures will be taken to diagnose, repair or replace them, with the aim of minimizing downtime and avoiding long interruptions for customers. Only through such an integrated approach can it be guaranteed that transformers continue to operate stably and safely, while maintaining the quality of service and the stability of the network.
Furthermore, repair is necessary to extend the technical life of existing assets, making the most of previously made investments. In this way, investments made over a period of 30 years or more, which is a lifespan achievable by a power transformer, do not lose their value.
According to the document, the security and reliability of the energy distribution or transmission network will be improved. Unexpected power supply interruptions due to breakdowns in old transformers can cause significant technical and economic costs, as well as impact on end consumers.
