130 million euros more in the state budget - Revenues increase in January-February. Wages and consumption lead
The state budget collected 117.3 billion lek in February, or 102.4% of the plan for the period. Compared to the same period a year ago, about 13 billion lek more, or 12.5% more, were collected.
Tax revenues were realized at 44.1 billion lek, 6.4 billion lek or 17% more than in February last year. While the plan was exceeded by 1.5 billion lek.
The item that has had the greatest impact on this performance is VAT collected (net), with a realization of 16.1 billion lek, or 17% more than February 2024.
Social and health insurance revenues also increased by 11.6%, reaching 30 billion lek, 3.1 billion lek or February 2024.
Personal income tax was collected in the amount of 13.5 billion lek, 3 billion lek more than February 2024, and 1.3 billion lek more than the plan. These two items were affected by the salary increase reform in the public administration. Meanwhile, national taxes, for the period February 2025, were collected in the amount of 8.1 billion lek.
Customs revenues also had a positive performance, which were realized at a value of 33.6 billion lek, 1.7 billion lek or 5.3% more than February 2024.
Revenues from VAT on imports for February 2025 are 22.5 billion lek, or 3.7% more than the same period a year ago. Revenues from excise duties are recorded at 9.5 billion lek, or 10.7% more than the same period in 2024, as from mineral royalties on exports they were realized in the amount of 406 million lek and from customs duties 1.2 billion lek.
Total public expenditures, for the second month of 2025, reached around 93.8 billion lek with a realization of 92.8 percent of the plan for the period, while compared to the same period of 2024, this item resulted in 10.1 billion lek more.
Capital expenditures, for the 2-month period of 2025, resulted in about 3.1 billion lek, while compared to the same period a year earlier, this item resulted in 1.9 billion lek more or about 150.6 percent higher.
