11-month period, almost 300 thousand vehicle tests - DPSHTRR: Control of personal cars dominates
The General Directorate of Road Transport Services has published data for the period January-November 2025, regarding the technical inspection service of circulating vehicles. During the 11-month period of 2025, 297 thousand 973 technical vehicle tests were carried out, a figure that represents an increase of 22% compared to 2023, indicating increased awareness and rigor in technical inspection.
According to data from the General Directorate of Road Transport Services, the distribution of tested vehicles shows the dominance of personal vehicles with 86.3%, followed by trucks with 6.3%, motorcycles with 4.7% and buses with 1.7%. Trailers and work vehicles account for 0.5% and 0.4% of the total number of checks, respectively. This diversity of verified vehicles for all categories circulating on the country's roads is aimed at increasing safety.
Through continuous monitoring of the technical condition of vehicles, DPSHTRR aims to reduce risks and prevent accidents that may result from mechanical problems.
The increase in the number of technical inspections directly translates into increased safety for road users. DPSHTRR also emphasizes that odometer interference, constructive modifications and any other manipulation are strictly prohibited, as these practices are a threat to road safety. Citizens can make reservations for technical inspections through the e-Albania portal.
