Trade in North Macedonia expands - The country has traded more with Germany, Britain and China

During the period January - September 2025, the total value of exports of goods from the Republic of North Macedonia reached 5,978.9 million euros, marking an increase of 2% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, the value of imports reached 8,494.3 million euros, which represents an expansion of 3.5% compared to 2024, the State Statistical Office announced.
According to the Standard International Trade Classification, the largest share in exports was recorded in catalysts with precious metals or their compounds, ignition conductor assemblies for vehicles, aircraft or ships, seat parts, etc.
The most represented import products were petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (except crude oil), other platinum group metals and their alloys, as well as motor vehicles for the transport of persons.
In terms of markets, Germany, Great Britain, China, Greece and Serbia accounted for 47.7% of the total foreign trade volume, while European Union member countries accounted for 59.6% of total exchange.
Economic experts estimate that export growth, although modest, indicates stability in foreign trade and may contribute to improving the trade balance in the coming months.
Diversifying markets and deepening trade relations with European and Asian partners is seen as a key strategy to maintain economic expansion.
