"Minimum wage 500 euros from January 1, 2026"/ Rama: Subsidizing costs

Prime Minister Edi Rama declared today that, from January 1, 2026, the minimum wage will be 500 euros.

In a video message, Rama said that the minimum wage will increase for 307,850 employees, who will receive the promised amount of 500 euros. This increase, according to the Prime Minister, will be the first, but not the only increase of this mandate, where the minimum wage will reach 700 euros.

Not only that, Rama added, "but as we promised, the government will also subsidize the additional cost of insurance for employees in the private sector with 90 million euros for a 9-month period."

"Let's put it this way, this is me and this is us. I say and we say what we do and we do what we say," Rama underlined.

"And those 83 mandates that you gave us to govern Albania in the fourth term and to seat it at the European Union table, as equals among equals, are 83 more reasons than until yesterday, to not sleep, to work without rest and to return to you with all the passion, will, perseverance, patience and love possible, all that you gave us, an extraordinary trust that is an extraordinary privilege," said Rama.
