13th salary for administration employees - Kosovo Government approves the decision. It comes into force on Tuesday

The Kosovo government has approved the decision to provide the 13th salary to all public sector employees. Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that this decision is a concrete expression of gratitude for their contribution to the functioning of institutions and the provision of services to citizens.
"As we promised, we are fulfilling this commitment by proving that responsibility towards workers translates into concrete results. The 13th payment aims to support the well-being of their families and ease the financial burden. At the same time, this step contributes to increasing motivation and dignity in the public service. The decision was made while maintaining fiscal sustainability and responsible management of the state budget. The government remains committed to continuing with policies that strengthen public administration and support those who serve citizens every day with work ," said Kurti.
The Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, stated that employees who have less than 12 full months in the public sector will also benefit from the 13th salary.
"We have also encountered cases where we have to take situations where they have not completed all 12 months. To be as fair as possible, we have agreed with the Treasury and have also secured sufficient funds so that for these people who have not completed the full 12 months, a partial salary can be given. So, for as many months as they have been engaged in the last 12 months, in the last 12 months, they are also entitled to a proportional part of the 13th salary. The same applies to those who work part-time, not full-time", explained the Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati.
According to him, employees recently dismissed from the administration will not be included in the 13th month payroll.
