DPSHTRR: 151% increase in fully electric vehicles

The General Directorate of Road Transport Services (DPSHTRR) informed today that during the period January - February 2026, 1,712 All-Electric vehicles were registered for the first time and that this figure marks an increase of 151% compared to the same period in 2025.
According to the DPSHTRR, the fleet of electric vehicles in the country continues to grow at a rapid pace, giving clear signs of an increasing orientation towards sustainable and environmentally friendly transport.
This positive trend demonstrates the increasing awareness of citizens and institutions about the benefits offered by the use of electric vehicles, such as reduced air pollution, reduced carbon emissions, and lower maintenance costs.
Adding "green" vehicles to the country's roads is considered an important step towards a cleaner, more efficient and more sustainable transportation system, in line with environmental objectives and green development policies.
