Kosovo, with an ammunition production factory - Strengthening the country's security, but also economic development
After more than 30 years, Kosovo is expected to have its own ammunition production factory again. The factory will be built near Gjakova, in the city's industrial zone. Through this strategic initiative, the Kosovo army will increase the country's security and develop even more defense capabilities.
Former soldiers in Kosovo consider the construction of an ammunition production factory important, at a time when the security situation is fragile in the Western Balkans, but also in the world in general. The construction of this factory will also contribute to strengthening the capacities of the Kosovo Security Force.
Ammunition production, according to experts in the field, is seen as important in terms of security, and is also expected to contribute to the country's economic development.
According to officials, initially production will meet domestic demand, while later it will be exported to other countries, which will make this factory even more profitable.
A year ago, the Government of Kosovo signed an agreement with a Turkish industrial manufacturer for the construction of an ammunition factory, an agreement that will serve for the production of various calibers of ammunition and other military equipment, according to NATO standards.
