Russia reached record grain export figures, selling 72 million tons in 2024. According to the latest forecasts, exports are expected to increase further until the end of the decade.

Russia's grain exports reached a record 72 million tons in 2024, according to the federal Agroexport center.

This figure represents an increase from 68.6 million tons last year, marking a significant milestone in the country's agricultural export sector.

The top importers of Russian grain in 2024 were Egypt (11.1 million tons), Turkey (7.2 million tons), Iran (5.6 million tons), and Saudi Arabia (4.6 million tons). These countries have played a key role in boosting Russian exports.

Following them were countries such as Bangladesh (3.9 million tons), Algeria (2.8 million tons), Kenya and Libya, with 2.5 million tons.

Looking ahead, Agroexport projects that Russia's grain exports could exceed 75 million tons, worth over $17 billion, by 2030.

The bulk of this value is expected to come from wheat, which is projected to account for around 80% of the total value. Meanwhile, corn and barley are expected to represent 10% and 9%, respectively.

This continued growth in exports underscores Russia's important role in global agricultural trade, particularly in meeting the demands of emerging markets.
