Microsoft, 80 billion USD for artificial intelligence - The company increases

Microsoft is planning to invest about $80 billion in fiscal year 2025 for the development of artificial intelligence data centers. Investments in this sector have increased since OpenAI introduced ChatGPT in 2022, as many companies seek to integrate the new technology into their products and services.

Artificial intelligence requires large amounts of power, driving demand for specialized data centers that enable tech companies to connect thousands of chips together in clusters.

Microsoft has invested billions to upgrade its infrastructure and expand its data center network. Analysts expect Microsoft's fiscal 2025 capital expenditures to be $84.24 billion. The company's capital investments in the first quarter of fiscal year 2025 increased by 5.3%, to $20 billion.

The tech giant is considered a top contender among Big Tech companies in the AI race due to its exclusive partnership with OpenAI.

More than half of Microsoft's $80 billion investment will be in the United States, Vice Chairman Brad Smith said.

"The United States leads the global AI race thanks to private capital investment and innovation from American companies of all sizes, from dynamic start-ups to established enterprises," Smith said.
