Trump administration "strikes" scientific discovery - Greenhouse Gas Protection Act to be partially repealed

The US Environmental Protection Agency, known as the EPA, announced that the Trump administration has decided to overturn a scientific discovery made during the era of former President Barack Obama that serves as the legal basis for federal protection against greenhouse gases.
The repeal of this law, which defends the scientific thesis that greenhouse gas emissions endanger human health, will slow down the planet's recovery from harmful substances, also marking the most negative effect of climate policy from the White House.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the repeal would be approved this week and quoted EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin as saying that it would create "the greatest climate instability in the history of the United States."
The US President has been working to repeal this law for more than a year, with the proposed rule being sent to the Office of Management and Budget for review on January 7.
The U.S. Petroleum Institute said it supported repealing the law for vehicles but said it should be left in place for stationary sources. Meanwhile, the response from Trump administration officials was consistent with the demands: “The repeal would dismantle the measurement, reporting, certification, and compliance requirements for federal emissions standards for vehicles, but would not apply to stationary sources such as power plants,” they said.
While many industry groups supported repealing emissions standards in the auto industry, many others were reluctant to show public support for repealing this law due to the political tensions it could cause.
