$30 billion a year for AI/ Oracle reveals deal with OpenAI for data centers

Artificial intelligence development company Open AI has confirmed that it has signed a contract with Oracle worth $30 billion per year to build data centers with a capacity of 4.5 gigawatts. These centers will serve the Stargate project, which was announced by US President Donald Trump in January.

The project is a key step in a $500 billion strategic initiative that aims to build 10 gigawatts of artificial intelligence infrastructure in the United States by 2029.

According to estimates, the new investment will enable the creation of over 100,000 jobs, both in the field of construction and operation of data centers, as well as through the supply chain and local services.

The job positions include direct and permanent engagements in the centers, temporary positions in construction, as well as indirect employment in equipment manufacturing and related activities, according to data published by Open AI.

Details about this contract first appeared in public in late June, when Oracle announced the completion of a multi-year contract that would bring it $30 billion in annual revenue, but then the name of the customer was not disclosed.

This news caused a significant increase in Oracle shares, and the company's founder, Larry Ellison, rose to second place on Bloomberg's list of the richest people in the world.
