NATO recognizes Albania's Airworthiness/ Next to Euro-Atlantic security, Civil Aviation enters the air elite
The Civil Aviation Authority of Albania has been recognized by NATO for its Airworthiness, fully meeting the standards set by the Atlantic Alliance. In an interview with Scan TV, the Director of the Civil Aviation Authority, Maksim Ethemaj, emphasized that for Albania, the recognition of Airworthiness, among other things, is a strategic commitment within the framework of its mission as a NATO member state.
"The recognition of Airworthiness by NATO, the Civil Aviation Authority, means an added asset to NATO, for the performance of its mission within the framework of the security of NATO member countries. What does it mean for Albania? Increased capacities, contribution of capacities to the organization, and strategic engagement, within the framework of the mission and obligations that Albania has as a NATO member country," - declared Ethemaj.
In a timeframe of 2 years, the Civil Aviation Authority demonstrated the recognition certification process and its capacity. But what were the three key elements that Civil Aviation had to achieve this standard?
"The NATO Airworthiness Recognition process for its member states is based on merit. It means that no one gets it for free, but you have to demonstrate the recognition certification process, the capacity that you have. We demonstrated that the Civil Aviation Authority is a well-structured organization, which operates and implements Civil Aviation standards in a very satisfactory manner, secondly we verified the knowledge of the Civil Aviation Authority staff and inspectors and we presented a detailed training plan for the Civil Aviation Authority staff," he said.
Among other things, Ethemaj underlined that the recognition of Airworthiness by NATO confirmed the other side of Civil Aviation, the strategic, political importance of the Civil Aviation Authority, of state structures in relation to Albania's obligation in NATO.
