2035, what will the world be like in 10 years? - World War III, climate change,

The world in 2035, that is, in 10 years, will not please us at all, if the assessments and predictions of experts are verified. Surely, some of you have wondered what our world will be like in the future. Maybe you will not like the answers.

Hundreds of international affairs experts believe that World War III is inevitable and will likely begin within the next 10 years.

A new poll of 357 political strategists weighed in on the future of humanity, with four in 10 saying a major war involving major powers like the US, China or Russia will break out in 2035. Most of those who believe World War III is coming said it is expected to involve nuclear weapons and battles in space.

The second biggest threat to the world in 2035 will be climate change, say 3 in 10 experts. Only 1.7% of respondents said a new pandemic would be the most worrying crisis affecting the global population, and only 5.1% believe that rising economic debt will harm the world by 2035.

The new poll, according to information from the Daily Mail, was conducted by the Atlantic Council, a global affairs think tank in Washington that focuses on international security and global economic prosperity.

A new world war

Donald Trump told President Volodymyr Zelensky that he was "risking World War III" by continuing the conflict with Russia.

For the next 10 years, political strategists also predicted that the war would not end well for the Ukrainians, America's economic and diplomatic dominance would decline, and global democracies would continue to decline, sliding into a "democratic recession."

"The most ominous predictions showed a bleak global outlook overall, with 62% of respondents thinking the world a decade from now will be in a worse state than it is today and only 38% predicting it will be in a better state ," the Atlantic Council group said.

The world and climate change

Three in 10 respondents (29.9%) identified climate change as the biggest threat to global prosperity between 2025 and 2035. This figure is only slightly higher than war between major global powers (27.6%).

Currently, the vast majority of studies agree that humans are the driving force behind global warming. Climate advocates have blamed changing weather patterns for recent disasters, including increasingly powerful hurricanes in the Atlantic and devastating fires in California.

Although the panel of experts did not make specific predictions about how climate change will destroy the planet, 51% of them believe there will be greater global cooperation to stop the crisis by 2035.

Fear of robots

As the world moves into the future, there is growing fear that robots will take more and more jobs from ordinary people.

Interestingly, the rise of advanced artificial intelligence has been viewed positively, with most experts not fearing an increase in job losses due to automation. “58% of respondents believe that artificial intelligence will have a generally positive impact on global affairs over the next ten years,” the Atlantic Council said.

While artificial intelligence may not replace all jobs in the U.S., experts still worry about America’s decline as a center of economic power and technological innovation. Compared to the Atlantic Council’s 2024 Global Forecasts survey, fewer respondents believed the U.S. would still be the dominant power in the world by 2035, down from 52% to 49%.

New global alliances

The 357 global affairs experts also warned of new global alliances in the next 10 years that could threaten the US and NATO.

Almost half of respondents (47.4%) believe that China will lead a new alliance that formally links it with Russia, Iran and North Korea. China, Russia and Iran are already part of the intergovernmental organization known as BRICS, which consists of 10 countries. Strategists fear that this BRICS alliance could soon rival the Group of Seven (G7), which consists of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.

As for the key players in this new alliance, the poll finds that nearly 65% agree that China will try to invade Taiwan. That's a 15% increase from last year's poll.

Meanwhile, 45% of experts see Russia being drawn into war with NATO within the next decade. "Among respondents who expect another world war within the decade, 69% predicted a direct conflict between Russia and NATO," the expert group found.

Nuclear Weapons and the Middle East

In 2025, there are nine countries that have access to nuclear weapons, according to the data. This list includes the United States, Russia, France, China, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, India, Israel and North Korea.

In the Middle East, the new survey presents a complex picture surrounding Israel and its current conflicts in the region. The majority of experts (62.5%) predict that the situation with the Palestinians will remain the same over the next 10 years, with Israel still occupying Palestinian territories.

However, more than half of respondents (56%) see Israel having normalized diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia by 2035.

Only 17% believe the world will see a sovereign and independent Palestinian state in the next decade, and less than 10% believe Israel will achieve friendly relations with Iran by then.
