"Albania will experience a major energy boom" - Berisha: Total production will double within one mandate
The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has once again declared that Albania will experience a major energy boom.
I am here to guarantee Albanian citizens that energy production from wind, sun and gas, with priority given to renewable energy production, will double today's total production during the coming mandate. Wind farms, solar farms will take absolute priority. Albania has among the most powerful wind platforms in Europe. These platforms extend from the depths of the Alps to the south of the country.
According to him, the biggest beneficiaries of this boom in energy production will be Albanian citizens, it will be Albanian business, it will be Made in Albania, Albanian production. Meanwhile, he also mentioned the TAP gas pipeline, emphasizing that the gasification of cities will be the priority of the Democratic Party.
Very serious investments will be made, even by the public sector, in gas-fired power plants, which have the highest standards of environmental respect. Existing contracts with TAP enable Albania to build over 500 megawatts of gas-fired power plants. Energy as one of the main pillars of our program will change the lives of all Albanian citizens. Gasification of the country's cities will be one of the most important initiatives of the Albanian government.
To fulfill these promises, Berisha stated that future budgets will be dedicated to Albania's infrastructure and gasification.
