The Albanian government rescinds the increase in the price of energy for the

The Albanian government has withdrawn the decision to charge at a real price those who consume more than 800 kilowatts of electricity per month. The decision was announced by the prime minister, who said it was influenced by the fact that in recent days there had been high levels of rainfall that had affected the level of electricity production in the country.

The tightening of electricity for those who consume more than 800 kilowatts per month has also received the approval of the Energy Regulatory Body a few days ago. The decision determined that starting from October 1, those families that spend more will be billed at 42 lek per kilowatt.

The reason for this increase was justified by the fact that the Albanian Electricity Corporation is buying energy more expensively as a result of the increase in prices in the international markets. This move was predicted to have a financial impact of 1.8 billion ALL.

This decision is considered temporary as it will last until December 31st of this year. This means that another meeting will be held for next year's billing.

According to the document filed in ERE, in October, the number of subscribers who were expected to be affected by the increase in electricity prices was 49,334, while in November and December, this number will increase to 71,278.
