Changes in the energy market - General: Businesses, obligation to declare the supplier. Soon, service for electric cars

2,300 businesses connected to 6kV voltage must declare their supplier by December, as they risk being left without electricity.
In fulfillment of legal obligations resulting from market liberalization, this category will no longer be supplied by OSHEE, as the administrator of the Free Market Supplier, Albi Gjeneri, announces the details, focusing on the prices that FTL will offer to those clients who will choose it as a supplier.
"From January 1, they are without electricity in terms of the supplier, but they all have metering systems, these metering systems record data and from January 1 onwards, data which will then be invoiced by the supplier, which will be their chosen supplier. FTL is one of these suppliers. It offers a complete supply package, which has a stable price of 18.34 lek/kWh, excluding VAT, and offers this price throughout the calendar year", - said the General.
The General also talks about one of the new projects of the Free Market Supplier, which is related to the new service for charging electric cars.
"It is a very innovative idea that includes FTL in the fast charging market for electric vehicles. At the core of this entire project remains the supply of end customers, who in this case will be citizens who have electric cars or taxi fleets or other companies. FTL has a trading license, a supply license. Meanwhile, many vehicle charging points, whether private or businesses and so on, do not have a supply license. If it is up to anyone to do this in the most legal and regular way possible, with full legal and technical responsibility, it is FTL or another supplier, who has a supply license. However, there is a legislative vacuum here, because of course, electric cars, ultra fast chargers, are innovations of the last two to three years and more study experience is required to see what legislation will be used", - said the General.
Currently, there is no deadline for when this service will be operational, but work is being done to make it available to customers as soon as possible.
