Public administration reaches 87,112 employees - Draft Budget 2026/ Which institutions have the most staff and the least?

The Albanian government is planning to expand the public administration next year. The 2026 draft budget plans to employ 87,012 budget employees, including 100 reserve employees for central government institutions.
In the current year, the public administration has a total of 86,314 employees, including 276 reserve employees for local government institutions. However, compared to 2024, when the administration had 85,274 staff, the 2026 draft budget increased the number of state administration employees by 1,838. Meanwhile, the institutions with the fewest employees are the National Accounting Council with 6 employees, the State Committee for Cults with 10 employees, and the National Cinematography Center with 13 employees.
