Sailing across Lake Mead, a reservoir located about 30 minutes southeast of Las Vegas, the Arc Sport EV boat offers a glimpse of a future where water sports leave nothing behind but a clean footprint. Built by California-based startup Arc, the all-electric sport boat is the company’s bold bet that the maritime world is ready to go electric.
Designed by a team of former Tesla and Rivian engineers, the 23-foot Arc Sport EV brings Silicon Valley thinking to the shore. With 500 horsepower delivered by an electric drivetrain, the Arc is faster, quieter, and cheaper to maintain than traditional gasoline-powered rivals, while producing zero harmful emissions into the air or water.
The boat supports an average of four to six hours of active use on a single charge, with an overnight charge with a Level 2 charger providing a full battery by morning. Beyond the power system, the Arc relies heavily on software.
A large central touchscreen allows drivers to configure displays, balance systems, control surfaces and cruise control with a single touch.
But the Arc's technology comes at a high price. The Arc Sport EV boat starts at $268,000.
The Los Angeles-based startup is now focused on expanding its electric platform to fishing boats, recreational craft, and even commercial vessels like tugboats and ferries.
