AAPSK puts equipment seized from a private hospital into use by QSUT and regional public hospitals

The Agency for the Administration of Sequestered and Confiscated Assets (AAPSK) has started 2026 by continuing a practice already consolidated in its activity: putting seized assets to the service of the public interest, state institutions and civil society.
In this context, the Chief Administrator of AAPSK, Risena Xhaja, conducted a working visit to a private hospital, which is under investigation by the Tirana Prosecutor's Office and on whose property a preventive seizure measure has been imposed.
With the approval of the prosecutor of the case, AAPSK has taken action to identify and distribute the medical equipment located in this facility, making them available to the Ministry of Health for further distribution to the relevant hospital centers. The medical equipment will be put into use by the QSUT and some of the regional hospitals according to the respective needs.
During the visit, the Chief Administrator of AAPSK, Ms. Risena Xhaja, said:
"We start 2026 with a work practice that has already become routine for our agency, putting confiscated assets at the service of state institutions and not only, but also of civil society. In this specific case, we are talking about a state institution. Here we are in a private hospital, which is under investigation by the Tirana Prosecutor's Office and we have a preventive seizure measure for the assets. With the approval of the prosecutor, we have come today to distribute the equipment located in the hospital, putting it to use by the Ministry of Health, to be distributed to hospital centers."
This action aims to directly contribute to the improvement of health services and the strengthening of the capacities of the public system, guaranteeing the efficient and beneficial use of seized assets for the benefit of citizens.
AAPSK remains committed to the responsible, legal and transparent administration of seized and confiscated assets, transforming them into concrete instruments in the service of the public interest.
