Albania consolidates as a year-round destination - 2025 closes with a historic record for Albanian tourism

The year 2025 closes with another record for Albanian tourism. Albania has surpassed the figure of 12 million visitors with foreign passports, significantly exceeding the results of the previous year.
This development confirms not only the increase in tourist flow, but also the consolidation of the country as a year-round destination, with sustainable interest beyond the summer season.
Data shows that Albania is attracting increasingly diverse visitors, thanks to offers in cultural, natural, culinary and sports tourism, no longer limited to coastal tourism.
The expansion of the tourist map, investments in infrastructure and increased international promotion have directly influenced this positive performance, positioning Albania as a competitive destination in the region and beyond.
Sector experts estimate that this growth trend creates not only more revenue for the economy, but also pressure for higher service standards and sustainable tourism development.
Meanwhile, it is worth highlighting the new National Tourism Strategy 2025–2030, which sets ambitious objectives for transforming the sector into a pillar of sustainable economic development. This strategy, which will guide the development of the sector in the next 5 years, predicts that tourism revenues will reach 6.7 billion euros by the end of the decade, up from 4.16 billion euros in 2023.
The strategy aims to increase bed capacity by 76%, reaching over 477,000 beds. The increase is focused on hotel beds at 28% of the total structure, while beds in short-term rental accommodation structures will be reduced to 6%.
