About 23 thousand Albanians left the country every day/ Land, air or sea, what is the most preferred mode of travel?

In 2025, 8.5 million departures from the territory of Albanians place our country at an extraordinary pace of movement. This is an indicator of a new daily dynamic. Albanians are traveling abroad more for tourism, work, personal and family reasons or studies. In more tangible terms, this means that about 23,500 Albanians have left the country on average every day in the year we left behind. A number that is surprising and speaks of the strong ties with abroad and the intense pace of travel.
A strong reason is the depreciation of the common European currency and consequently cheaper tourist packages which are often offered in euros.
In terms of departure mode, land remains the main route, including buses, private cars. In total, 6 million Albanians leave the country by land, which translates to over 16,500 people per day by land alone. Air travel also accounts for a significant number, with 2.2 million departures, while sea travel contributes 282,648 departures, mainly for holidays and trade.
This phenomenon reflects changes in the way Albanians connect with the world beyond their borders. From the percentages of use of different routes, it seems that land remains the most popular choice, perhaps due to its proximity to neighboring countries and lower travel costs. Air travel is increasing significantly, showing a trend towards faster and more frequent trips, while the sea retains a symbolic and seasonal role.
In perspective, these figures provide a unique picture of Albanian mobility, showing that the daily movement of citizens is an integral part of the economy, tourism, and social life.
