Port of Durres, in 2025 6.3% more goods were processed - Intensification of port activity, increasing exports and imports

The Port of Durres has concluded the year 2025 with positive indicators in terms of goods processing and maritime activity, confirming its strategic role as the main maritime trade hub in Albania and one of the most important factors that directly contributes to the development of the national economy and the strengthening of regional trade ties.
According to the Durrës Port Authority, a total of 3.8 million tons of goods were processed in the terminals of the Port of Durrës during 2025, a figure that represents an increase of 6.3% compared to 2024. Of this total volume, about 2.8 million tons were imports, while 1 million tons were recorded as exports. The structure of this volume reflects the needs of the domestic economy for a sustainable supply of raw materials and consumer goods, as well as the role of the port in supporting export activity.
In terms of maritime movement, data show that during 2025, a total of 1,506 commercial ships were processed, an indicator that reflects the significant intensification of port activity, the increase in the volume of work at terminals and the increased confidence of operators and shipping lines in the Port of Durres.
The Durres Port Authority emphasizes that, despite significant flows of goods and vessels throughout the year, the port has managed to maintain a stable and safe level of operation, guaranteeing continuity in port services, compliance with safety standards and efficiency in cargo processing.
Meanwhile, the 2025 performance creates a stable basis for further developments, in terms of increasing operational efficiency, modernizing processes and strengthening the role of the Port of Durres in regional and international maritime trade.
