Air transport "seals" success/ Flights increased by 34%, around 10.7 million passengers were registered
According to the latest data, in the past year, a total of about 373 thousand aircraft have flown in Albanian airspace, of which 82% are overflights. The number of flights in our country for 2024 has been recorded at about 69 thousand, marking a significant increase of 34%, compared to the previous year.
During the fourth quarter alone, the number of flights was recorded at 15 thousand, while the number of passengers carried by air routes is estimated at 2.4 million, up from 1.8 million a year earlier. Compared to the same quarter last year, the number of passengers increased by 26.2%.
According to official data from “Tirana International Airport”, there has been a significant increase in the number of passengers, in seat capacity and in load factors, indicating a serious commitment to passengers. Referring to the figures, in 2024, Tirana International Airport welcomed 48% more passengers, reaching a record figure of 10.7 million passengers. This extraordinary growth underlines the essential role that the airport has in facilitating travel and providing connections between destinations.
If we were to talk about the volume of goods, it turns out that during the fourth quarter of 2024, the volume of goods (including mail) entering and exiting via air transport amounted to 625 tons.
