Foreigners spent 2.1 billion euros in Albania/ In the first half of the year, the net balance is estimated at around 800 million euros

Tourism in Albania for the first half of 2025 has shown a good performance, reflecting a continuous increase in the interest of foreign visitors. According to the data, foreign tourists have spent 1.22 billion euros during the second three months of the year alone, registering a significant increase compared to the same period of 2024, when spending was 1.16 billion euros. This increase reinforces Albania's position as a preferred tourist destination in the region and shows a steady improvement in the tourist offer, including accommodation, services and attractions outside the summer season.
If we refer to the figure for the first half of the year, foreign tourist spending in our country was estimated at around 2.1 billion euros. However, it should be noted that the annual growth of 7.7% is significantly lower than in previous years.
On the other hand, Albanians' spending abroad has also marked a significant increase, reaching 721.1 million euros in the second quarter alone. During the January-June period of this year, Albanians' spending abroad was recorded at 1.3 billion euros.
However, the net balance of tourism remains positive. The difference between the spending of foreign tourists in Albania and that of Albanians abroad has reached 502.6 million euros for the second quarter of the year, a record level that clearly shows that the Albanian economy benefits more from the inflow of foreign visitors than from the spending of citizens abroad. This positive balance has a significant impact on national income, affecting local businesses, the labor market and social sectors related to tourism. For the first half of the year, the net balance is estimated at around 800 million euros.
This dynamic, which represents a balance between inflows and outflows, shows that tourism remains a key sector for the country's economic development and a sustainable revenue engine.
