How much do Albanians spend abroad? Every trip outside Albania cost us around 350 euros

In the period January-September 2025, each trip of an Albanian citizen abroad cost an average of around 352 euros, almost at the same level as the 349 euros it was in the same period of 2024. This shows that the average expenditure per trip remains stable, despite the fact that the total expenditure of Albanians abroad has increased significantly. In other words, Albanians are spending more or less the same amount per trip, but are going out more often.
Total spending by Albanians abroad, according to the "Bank of Albania", reached 2.3 billion euros in January-September 2025, up from 2.09 billion euros in the same period in 2024. At the same time, the number of departures has increased significantly, going from 5.9 million departures in 2024 to 6.5 million departures in 2025. This shows that the increase in total spending is not related to the increase in spending per traveler, but to the intensification of movements abroad.
Recent trends show that Albanians are traveling abroad more often. This is due to cheaper prices and the fall of the euro. Most of these trips are related to short visits, business trips, or family visits, which are usually accompanied by moderate spending. On the other hand, this trend reflects an expansion of tourist activity abroad and an increase in the mobility of Albanian citizens.
The data analysis more or less shows that the increase in total spending abroad is mainly a product of the greater volume of trips and not of the increase in spending power per trip. This indicates a stability of the personal economy of citizens during periods of movement abroad, even in the face of changes in costs and prices in the host countries.
