Greece, a "magnet" for Americans - Visitors from the US increased by 21% in the October-November period

American tourist demand for Greece is continuing to grow at the end of the year, according to data on passenger traffic from the US at Athens airport.
In October-November 2025, American travelers recorded a 21% increase compared to the same period last year. This result shows that the dynamics of the American market have not only not weakened after the summer, but remain particularly strong during the fall, a traditionally quieter period for tourism.
It is worth noting that this increase only concerns passengers living abroad and does not include Greeks returning to or traveling to the U.S. A major factor was the decision of several airlines to extend seasonal flight schedules this year, maintaining direct connections between Greece and the United States for a longer period.
For example, Norse continued to operate its Athens-New York route in November until early December, when it was originally scheduled to operate until the end of October. United Airlines also extended its nonstop flight operation on a regular schedule until October 25 and then until November 20.
Only Delta and Emirates offer direct flights year-round. During the winter season, the number of flights is significantly reduced, but service continues uninterrupted, providing uninterrupted access to the other side of the Atlantic.
The first data for the new season is encouraging, with companies planning to offer 726,000 tickets from the US to Greece, according to data so far, while the connection between the two markets is expected to strengthen further.
One of the new services that will be added is the Dallas-Athens route, which will launch in the summer of 2026 by American Airlines.
