Around 12 thousand applications for building permits during the first 8 months of 2025/ Since 2022 an average of 20 thousand applications per year
Since 2016, the building permit application process has been digitalized through the e-Albania platform, becoming one of the most used and important services for citizens and businesses. The latest data shows that 145,396 applications have been made so far, a figure that directly reflects the increased demand for construction development in the country, over the past almost ten years.
During the period January-August 2024 alone, 11,348 applications were registered, while for the same period in 2025 this number reached 12,314, marking a significant increase that shows the continuity of the dynamics in this sector. Statistics from the last three years highlight an average of 20 thousand applications per year, which shows that the demand for construction permits has a considerable flow in the country, which continues to remain stable year after year.
This high volume of applications is a clear indication that construction remains a strategic sector for the economy, directly influencing urban development, increasing investments and creating new jobs.
Then, if we refer to the data from the Institute of Statistics, it turns out that for the first six months of the year, a total of 604 building permits were granted. The regions of Tirana and Durrës hold the main weight, having the highest number of building permits in the country. Meanwhile, what is noticeable is that the value of constructions results to have undergone a higher increase than that of 2024.
