Pensions increase from October 1 - Indexation at 2.5%, total fund 1.14 billion lek
From October 1, all pensioners in Albania will benefit from a pension increase of 2.5 percent above the amount they currently receive.
The decision published in the Official Gazette, on the indexation of pensions, guarantees the right to benefit for 721,398 pensioners in total. Divided by categories, the number of pensioners receiving old-age pension is 607,567 pensioners, 65,926 are treated with disability pensions and 47,905 benefit from family pensions.
Likewise, indexation will also benefit pensions that will be assigned from 1.10.2025 onwards, provided that the date of birth of the pension right is up to and including 30.9.2025.
According to the decision, full old-age pensions, full disability pensions, determined according to the provisions of Law No. 7703, dated 11.5.1993, as well as old-age pensions of underground mining workers, determined by Law No. 150/2014, which have a start date of entitlement until 31.12.2014, will not be less than 18,335 lekë/month and not more than 36,670 lekë/month.
Full old-age pensions, full disability pensions, determined in accordance with Law No. 4976, dated 29.6.1972, “On pensions of members of agricultural cooperatives in the People's Republic of Albania”, with a starting date of 31.12.2014 and onwards, will not be less than 12,554 lek/month and not more than 18,335 lek/month.
Early pensions, determined according to Law No. 10142, dated 15.5.2009, as amended, with a starting date from 1.10.2025 onwards, will not be less than 18,335 lek per month.
The full social pension amount, starting from 1.10.2025 onwards, will be 9,953 lek per month.
