In 10 months, 10.4 million foreigners entered Albania/ This figure exceeds the total of 2023 by almost 280 thousand
During the 10 months of 2024, a total of 17 million entries were registered in Albania, where most of them belonged to foreign citizens, which marked an increase of 9.3% compared to the same period last year.
In the month of October, about 1.4 million entries of Albanian and foreign citizens were registered in the territory of the Republic of Albania, or almost 9.6% more than in the same period of 2023.
In the tenth month of this year, nearly 1.3 million departures from the Albanian territory were also registered, with an increase of 10.8% compared to October last year.
According to the data analyzed by "Scan Intel", the number of Albanian citizens who entered the country was 620,845, with an increase of 9.9% compared to October 2023. On the other hand, there are 7611,636 foreign citizens who entered in Albania or 9.3% more than in October 2023.
If we extend the analysis to a period of time from January of this year to October, there are about 17 million entries in total, among which 10.4 million were foreigners. This figure also exceeds the number of foreigners who visited Albania throughout the year 2023. But, although with growth, based on these rates, the predictions for 14 million foreigners by the end of the current year remain questionable. Also, in the same period, 16.7 million exits from the Albanian territory were registered.
In October 2024, 94% of foreign national arrivals were from Europe, including 716,311 visitors. In second place are citizens from America, with about 23,000 entries. Meanwhile, arrivals from the Middle East and Africa make up a small part of the total, but in annual terms, African visitors have seen a significant increase. Compared to October 2023, entries by African nationals have quadrupled, with 2,500 more this year.
But what are the reasons that lead foreigners to choose our country? In 97% of cases, the purpose of entry of foreign citizens into the territory of Albania is related to personal reasons, while vacations and professional activities occupy the rest of the main motives.
