Bypass Sarandë, the winner is announced for the design - The segment about 3.5 km, must connect the Sixth Neck with the national road
With an offer of 29 million ALL, the Albanian Road Authority has announced the winning company that will carry out the study and design of the Saranda bypass.
The winner was the consortium of 4 companies ("Seed Consulting & "Taulant", "Geoab and "Albegis&Co"), while 7 companies participated in the competition.
The public procurement procedure for the design and study of this road work was opened a few months ago, as the tender documents specified that the project should include the construction of a new road segment that connects Qafë Gjaštë with the national road, Sarandë - Himarë, leave open the further development towards the connection with the road Kardhiq - Delvina - Saranda and the Coast Road.
The new segment is expected to have a length of approximately 3.5 km, including road segments with urban or interurban characteristics, including a tunnel with a length of approximately 800-900 m.
The construction of this axis is expected to solve the traffic problem that arises during the summer season. According to ARRSH, Saranda is one of the most important coastal tourism cities in Albania and experiences a quadrupling of the population in the summer season with an ever-increasing trend.
Meanwhile, even in the draft budget of 2025, funds are provided for the construction of this road. In total, the fund made available is 680 million ALL.
