Prices in Albania also increase according to Eurostat/ November inflation is estimated at 2.4%, 1 point below the EU
The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices, which measures price growth according to the methodology of the 'European Statistics Agency', in November 2024 is recorded at 2.4%. From the data, we recall that the inflation for the same month of this year according to the methodology of 'INSTAT' is 2%. In both cases, inflation is calculated by the same institution, but there are small differences due to the weight given to each group in the inflation rate. Even in the case of measurement according to the European method, we see that the prices in November are higher than a month ago, as a result of the impact of the holidays.
Compared to other European countries, Albania ranks one position away from the average border of the European Union. This is confirmed by the figures of this indicator for the month of November, where it turns out that the average price increase in Europe for the same month is recorded at 2.5%.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, the countries with the highest price rate in Europe are North Macedonia with 5.6%, Romania with 5.4%, Belgium with 4.8% and Serbia with 4.4%. So, at the regional level, only Montenegro is better than Albania with a price increase rate of up to 2.3%. The data show that in most of the countries analyzed, we have an increase in the inflation rate.
If we refer to the main groups, the largest increase in prices of 4.1% is observed in the group "Alcoholic beverages and tobacco", followed by the groups "Entertainment and culture" with 3.9%, "Furniture, household appliances and maintenance" with 3.5%, " Clothing and shoes" with 3.4%, "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" with 3.2%, "Hotels, cafes and restaurants" with 3.0%, "Miscellaneous goods and services" with 2.1%, "Educational service" with 1.6%, "Health" with 1.5%, "Rent, water, fuel and energy" with 1.1%, "Communication" with 0.8%. On the other hand, the prices of the "Transporti" group decreased by 3.0%.
