The use of artificial intelligence is gradually becoming part of the functioning of businesses in Albania, reflecting a growing trend towards digitalization and modernization of the economy. According to the latest data from Eurostat, 8.99% of Albanian enterprises use at least one artificial intelligence technology, a level that positions the country in line with several economies in the region and above several other markets in Southeast Europe.

This indicator places Albania ahead of countries such as Turkey (7.41%), Bulgaria (8.55%) and Poland (8.36%), while the differences with the European Union average of 19.95% mainly reflect differences in the structure of the economy and the level of technological development. In the region, Albania ranks close to Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, countries that are following a similar path of gradual adoption of new technologies.

At the same time, the data shows that Northern European countries are leading the way in the use of artificial intelligence in business, with Denmark (42.03%), Finland (37.82%) and Sweden (35.04%) at the top. This contrast highlights the potential for growth that emerging economies, including Albania, have as digital technologies become increasingly accessible.

The growing interest in automation, data analytics and the use of intelligent solutions in sectors such as services, trade, finance and logistics is creating favorable terrain for the expansion of artificial intelligence in Albanian businesses. Furthermore, the development of technological startups, investments in digital infrastructure and approximation with European standards are seen as key factors that could accelerate this process in the coming years.
