"100 Villages" will receive 2.5 billion lek in 2026/ Albanian Development Fund with 24.8 billion lek in the new budget

Based on the 2026 draft budget, the Albanian Development Fund (ADF) will have a budget of 24.8 billion lek, representing one of the most important public investments in the country's infrastructure and rural development. The amount includes both domestic and foreign financing, with the aim of continuing projects in the local infrastructure network, the development of rural areas and programs dedicated to local communities.
Of the total, 2.5 billion lek are planned for the “100 Villages” Program, a government initiative that aims to transform rural areas with tourism and agricultural potential into models of sustainable development. In addition to this program, 7.4 billion lek are foreseen for “Local and Regional Infrastructure”, while 14.8 billion lek are for “Development Programs”.
The “100 Villages” program includes interventions in the improvement of rural roads, water supply and sewage systems, urban redevelopment and the promotion of agrotourism. The goal is to increase the quality of life in villages and strengthen the link between economic development and the preservation of cultural heritage.
This fund is considered important for the continuation of the rural development reform, which foresees the coordination of public and private investments in areas with tourist potential, as well as the creation of agritourism networks and local markets for traditional products. At the same time, the ADF will continue projects to modernize local infrastructure and strengthen the role of local government in investment management.
Compared to previous years, funding for the ADF maintains a high share in the public investment budget, confirming the priority that the government gives to rural development and improving the quality of life in areas outside urban centers.
