"We strengthen energy ties with the region" - Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku inspects the "Tirana 2" Substation

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, was this Thursday at the "Tirana 2" substation, where investments have been made to increase transmission capacities, which guarantee improved energy supply for the Durrës region and the entire Southwestern area. In her speech, Balluku said that energy losses in the network have decreased.
"We are at a satisfactory level in terms of losses. But I always say in all the international meetings we have that undoubtedly, the part of the transmission operator is the most important part of a country's energy system, as it is also what connects us to the region and its neighbors. It must be said that the volumes of electricity have increased greatly throughout the region, especially during the summer period, given that Albania is a country where the number of visitors is added to the number of residents, increasing it several times, and the demand for energy. And all the transmission that occurs from Greece to Albania and vice versa, or even the Montenegro line that is used for exports to Italy are always loaded. This is the reason why the Republic of Albania, through the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, has long been sitting at the negotiating table with the Italian ministry to discuss the construction of the underwater line that will connect Albania directly to the Italian coasts ," said Balluku.
Meanwhile, after the completion of this substation, there will be three more lines to supply three suburban areas of Tirana.
